Sheila Cockrel is the founder and CEO of Crossroads Consulting . A full service public policy & public affairs consultancy; it provides a select and diverse client base with strategic advice and consultation on local government process, protocols and government permitting.
Developing intelligent, logical and effective policy that anticipates and corrects unintended consequences, and carries forward an agenda that benefits and balances the interests of citizens and the business community.
Serving as a Detroit City Council Member for 16 years, and having earned the respect of colleagues, department heads, and executive branch officials she has extraordinary knowledge of people, process, policy, and political strategy.
As an adjunct professor in the Honors College at Wayne State University.
Forging solid relationships with stakeholders in the government sector and business community, facilitating and promoting economic development projects and events that are exciting and profitable.
She is also Director of Citizen Detroit, an organization in partnership with Wayne State University with a mission of empowering citizens with accurate information and data regarding issues facing the City of Detroit and Southeast Michigan, so that citizens can develop educated opinions and make educated voting decisions.
Meet The Team
At Crossroads Consulting, Jehan serves clients in strategy development, compliance, government contracting, zoning and licensing matters.
In 2009, Jehan founded C&G Solutions, PLC, a specialized legal and consulting firm, assisting both for-profit and nonprofit companies with business-related and licensing issues. She also served as Staff Attorney and Deputy Chief of Staff for former Council Member Saunteel Jenkins, where she analyzed and prepared proposed local ordinances, coordinated a range of approvals with City Departments and Agencies, and performed legal and policy analysis on zoning approvals, tax incentive programs and contracts.
Jehan currently serves as President for the Wolverine Bar Association and Wolverine Bar Foundation, Member of the State Bar of Michigan Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, Member of Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, mentor for the Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program (WOT) and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Detroit Alumnae Chapter. Formerly, she chaired the Special Events Committee for the Wayne State Law Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Jehan received the Wolverine Bar 2014-15 Board Member of the Year Award and has been twice recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as a Rising Star, based upon peer recognition and professional achievement. No more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state are selected to receive this honor. She has also received the 2015 Martindale-Hubbell Distinction Award. After being rated for Quality of Service, Overall Value, Responsiveness and Communicating Ability, Jehan obtained an exceptional rating, of which less than 1% of 900,000+ attorneys receive.”
Jehan has her Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School and an undergraduate degree in Political Science and English from Michigan State University.
